Surprise visitors today
- an oft-maligned species with unusual breeding behavior - the Brownheaded Cowbird. They are parasitic breeders, laying their eggs in other birds' nests and letting them raise the babies. Late in the season, they all gather and learn how to properly Cowbird and migrate. They are a native species and their breeding behavior is not out of malice but evolution.
