Feathers are such beautiful and fascinating things. I love the prrlllt sound they make when they are in use, I love the countless patterns and colors. They look gorgeous when spread out in flight, but also magnificent when folded neatly.
Scenes like this are part of why I am not such a big fan of the Starlings. They can become rather aggressive.
The majority of the Grackles are gone, but the occasional loner still stops by to snack and wow.

Yesterday felt like the first real fall day, even though it was relatively mild. Lots of wind and rain, and leaves falling. The Robin caught some rain drops too while he was pondering dinner.
