The bird bird deluge

did not happen today, but the feeders and bird baths were still busy. When I first started watching birds here, I read about heated bird baths and was astounded that something like this would even exist. There was no need for that in the middle of Germany where I grew up. So I got one of these magical things, and then a second, and now I have four in total with three in current use. And I am still astounded at the magic they do during frozen days. I have two of my favorite one, which is the beige one you can also see on my bird bath livestream. They come with a thermostat so they only keep the water from freezing when needed, and do not heat it. The one in this video here is one I got new last fall, because I wanted another smaller round one to mount higher up on the shed. It is holding up well so far but time will tell. None of them make my electricity bill go up like crazy.
