I got to spend the weekend
with family in northern Michigan, visiting orchards and wineries and enjoying the spectacular show nature is putting on there. The colors of the trees are mesmerizing, I have never seen anything like it in person, and we had cloudy skies. But it is also nice to be back home. We are expecting our first signs of frost tonight, so I hope that more bird activity is upon us. Have a beautiful Sunday evening!
Nothing much is happening,
but I am having a good weekend with very little work for a change. I got some knitting and watching tv done, which I usually do not have a lot of time for. I have had to wear socks for the last two days, it has gotten cooler. And things are slow in the yard. But there are some new visitors. The Red-breasted Nuthatches are here, and I am so happy because they are a complete delight. They sound like little beat boxes and have little to no fear of humans. I walked up to feeders earlier today and just watched with a big grin how they were watching me, doing their noises. A perfectly wonderful bird to cure the little void birdwatchers feel after the summer frenzy.
I feel a bit like this MoDo today.
The weekend is here, the weather was nice all day but cooled in the evening, and everything is kind of calming down. We had rain last night, and all of a sudden, there are buds all over the place! Dr. Clara sits on her eggs and I cleared my work schedule a bit because today I got my first COVID vaccine dose and I wanted to make sure I have the time to relax and let my body do what it has to do. I hope you all have a pleasant start into the weekend. People are starting to report Hummers in Michigan!
